Dear Friends of The French Gourmet and Voulez Vous Bistro,
Many of you have experienced the vibrant service of Stephane, either at The French Gourmet, or Voulez Vous Bistro.
Stephane has been part of The French Gourmet family for four years. He has joined Christian’s team at Voulez Vous and is the waiter/manager in the evenings.
It is our honor to support the fundraiser for Stephane’s decision to donate a kidney to his friend, Kai, by hosting this dinner for his benefit. The event will be held at Voulez Vous Bistro (2168 Avenida de la Playa in La Jolla Shores) on Sunday, January 13, at 6:00 p.m. The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, and an auction. No-host beer and wine will be available.
Tickets are $20.00 in advance, or $25.00 at the door.

My Brother Needs a Kidney
I met Kai two years ago while surfing. Very quickly he became more than my best friend, he became the big brother I never had. He has taught me what true “Aloha” spirit means, and that surfing is deeper than riding waves. Kai’s spirit has changed my life forever. Kai is always in a good mood, always the one cheering others on. He is driven by helping others. It is my desire to improve the quality of Kai’s life by giving him a kidney.
I knew Kai for about a year before I became aware of his health issues. When I found out, I was astonished. How can someone with no kidney function be so stoked on life? He always listens to others; always goes out of his way to make someone happy. Often Kai has no energy but he does whatever he can to be there for everyone.
Kai is a Desert Storm veteran, therefore, we are both flying to the Veteran’s hospital in Portland for the kidney transplant. January 24th will be the beginning of a new life for us.
We would be honored to have your support on January 13.
