Contract Time
1) Contract time is defined as the period of time that the renter has invited guests to be with them at Darlington House.
2) The front door is open to admit guests one-half hour before Contract time begins.
3) Music, bar, and food service must stop 1/2 hour before end of Contract time.
4) No Contract time can extend beyond 9:00 pm

Requirements
1) Social Service League of La Jolla has a required list of liscensed and insured cateres to choose from. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of your contract with Social Service League of La Jolla. As soon as possible, but not less than 60 days before the event, client must provide reservation director with the name of the selected caterer. Social Service League of La Jolla is not responsible for breaches of contract between client (bride or organization) and vendors (caterers, valet services, florists or rental services.)
2) A no-host (cash bar) is never allowed.
3) The client is responsible for any and all damage to Social Service League of La Jolla's premises, equipment or furnishings by Client, client's guest, Caterer and other persons or services hired by renter. Client shall deliver up the premises, equipment and furnishings of Owner in as good condition and repair as received and in a clean, neat and orderly condition. Social Service League of La Jolla may make repairs necessary to the premises, equipment and furnishings to restore them to their condition upon rental and charge renter therof.
4) Food or beverage stations may be set up in the patios, gardens or the tiled library, but not elsewhere in the house.
5) Guest list may not exceed 200.
6) The upstairs suite is limited to use by the bridal party only.

Basic Rules
1) No smoking in the house.
2) No red wine in the house.
3) Rice, bird seed or rose petals may not be thrown.
4) Shoes must be worn at all times. Social Service League of La Jolla cannot be held responsible for injuries sustained when people are not wearing shoes.
5) Deep fat frying is not allowed.
6) Open flame grilling is allowed in the parking lot with tarp covering area used.

City Regulation
1) Volume must be kept below the noise level ceiling enforced by the police department. (During the event, this level is measured and monitored with a meter by the Darlington House manager.)

Financial
1) Final payment is required no later than sixty (60) days prior to the scheduled date of the event. (A $50.00 charge will be deducted from Security Deposit if balance of rental payment is late.) Rates include gratuities.

3) Your deposit is refundable if reservation is cancelled in writing at least 90 days prior to event. However, a $250.00 processing fee will be charged.
